We
have developed special activated carbons to remove volatile organic
compounds (VOC), formaldehyde and other chemical substances (patent
no. 3050139).
Compared with regular activated carbons, special activated carbons
have a greater ability to adsorb chemical substances and generate
less than 1/5th the amount of dust.

A water-glass (sodium silicate) coating affords this type of activated
carbons superior
removal ability, while restraining the amount of dust generated.
Restraining the outgassing from the components used in the Environmental Medical Center is one crucial factor in reducing the concentration of chemical substances.

Exclusive Air Handling Unit (AHU) for the Environmental Medical Center
A double outer plate has been adopted for Environmental Medical Center AHU.
Stainless steel (SUS) 304 that has been subjected to degreasing is used for coils, fins, and inner plates.
The bearings of the AHU and fans are equipped with a sealing mechanism to prevent the inflow of air from the outside(patent no.3025965).

We developed a system to monitor the concentration of chemical substances indoors. Measurements are taken with a hydrocarbon analyzer that was improved points by setting measurement points accordingly; a personal computer stores the measured data.

*Challenge tests are done in order to specify the substances that cause chemical sensitivities. We developed a chemical injection system that can control a room's chemical substance concentration uniformly (patent no.3027945).

This test is actually an examination done to determine the substances and quantities to which a patient with chemical sensitivities reacts.
