It has long been the structure for technology to serve people in their pursuit of abundant lives. Although human begins have come to enjoy a highly material civilization, it is questionable whether what has been obtained is truly of worth. Global warming, the hole in the ozone layer and other environmental issues of a global scale are increasing in severity. If these ills are the "rewards" of our generation’s pursuit of material satisfaction, then it is our generation that must write the prescription for them. Those who have developed the environmental technologies to the present will thus shoulder large responsibilities.

Since it began operating in 1990, Shinryo Corporation's R&D Center has worked from the philosophy of "Researching Ideal Images of the Future, for Humans and the Environment." When the Center opened, we predicted the end of an era that emphasized quantity and the progression of an information revolution. Not settling for established theories, we re-analyzed environmental technologies, with their expanding roles, and made it our mission to systematize them as a comprehensive technology. Since then, the end of an era that values quantity and the advancement of the information revolution have proceeded at a pace that has exceeded our estimations. Additionally, expectations for environmental technologies have continued to rise in proportion to this pace.

We will continue to strive for the benefit of the global environment. Having continued to seek ideal relations between people and the environment for over 30 years, we believe that we are uniquely qualified to do so. In our fusion of technology comprised of wisdom that must be transmitted and technology that is the product of new knowledge, we intend to work in collaboration with intelligence from the outside world.

It is not simply a "return to nature" or the "praise of nature" that is now sought but a road that leads to harmony between people and the environment by keeping the burden on the environment within tolerable limits, without stagnating the dynamism of the business of people. We trust in science. We believe in the progress of human beings and technology.
